Why we built HorseWood

HorseWood started in 2018 in a farrier's workshop outside Lexington, which is a strange origin for a supplement company and the reason for the name.

Our founder spent twenty years shoeing horses. It is physical work, it starts early, and it is the kind of job where you find out precisely when your body stops keeping up. Around forty-five he noticed that the second half of the day had gone missing. Not dramatically, and not in a way any test flagged. The morning was fine and by four in the afternoon he was finished.

What he found on the shelf did not help. Half the products were caffeine in a masculine bottle, which solved four o'clock by wrecking eleven at night. The other half listed six or seven botanicals under a single proprietary blend total, so there was no way to tell whether the ingredient on the front of the label was the ingredient doing the work or simply the ingredient with the best name. He wanted to know what he was taking and how much of it. That turned out to be a surprisingly hard thing to buy.

HorseWood was built to be the answer to that. Seven actives, chosen for what they are traditionally and clinically associated with rather than for how they read on a label. No stimulants at all, because a product that fakes an effect is worse than one that does nothing. And the milligram amounts printed for every active we measure, including the two extract ratios, so a buyer can look them up independently.

Why we only sell direct

HorseWood is sold on horsewoodofficial.com and nowhere else. We get asked about this constantly, usually by people who would find it more convenient on a marketplace, and the answer has three parts.

The first is quality control. A capsule that has sat in an unregulated warehouse through a summer is not the product we shipped. The second is price. Every layer of distribution adds a margin, and selling direct is how the six-bottle pack stays at $49 a bottle instead of drifting toward retail pricing. The third is the guarantee. We can honour 60 days on a bottle we shipped from our own warehouse to your own address. We cannot honour it on a bottle bought from a stranger.

So if you see HorseWood listed on Amazon, eBay, Walmart or in a pharmacy, it did not come from us.

The other thing we decided early was to stop at one bottle size and one strength. A single product means a single supply chain to audit, a single label to keep honest and a single guarantee to administer. It also means we cannot upsell you to a stronger version, which removes the temptation to make the first version weaker than it should be.

Who we are now

HorseWood is formulated and distributed by Rowanhill Brands, LLC, founded in 2018 and based at 2140 Regency Road, Suite 12, Lexington, KY 40503. We are a small team. The phone number in the footer of this site is a real one and reaches a person during business hours, which is a low bar that a surprising number of supplement companies fail to clear.

We make one product. There is no second formula, no women's version, no extra-strength variant, and no plan for any of them.
